Elk River High School Presents The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow

Early on a September morning the villagers of Sleepy Hollow await their new schoolmaster. When Ichabod finally arrives, his priggish correctness casts a pall over the gossipy, prank-playing townsfolk. Soon enough, though, his genteel manners and his hymn singing impress the ladies, including Katrina Van Tassel, the town belle. The menfolk are less thrilled, especially Brom Bones, Katrina's beau, and he begins plotting to rid himself of his unwelcome rival. Matters come to a head during the Van Tassel's Halloween party, after which the superstitious Ichabod is accosted on his lonely ride home by a fiendish apparition, the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow. The next morning Ichabod has disappeared, leaving behind only a song in the wind, and a new legend is born.

Based on the classic by Lewis Carroll Adapted by Anne Coulter Martens. As the curtain rises, Alice slides into view at the end of her long fall down the rabbit-hole. It is a more delightful place for the audience than for Alice, who is trying desperately to get back home. Alice journeys through Wonderland, encountering some familiar characters and some maybe not so familiar in her quest to return home. She gets advice from the Caterpillar and morals from the Duchess. She tries to help Humpty Dumpty when he falls and then “enjoys” tea with the Mad Hatter. She tries to keep Tweedledee and Tweedledum from fighting and joins the Queen of Hearts for a croquet game. Finally, she finds herself on trial for stealing the Queen’s tarts. With the help of her new friend, the Cheshire Cat, she is finally able to return home. This delightful, whimsical children’s story is brought to life in a way which will be enjoyable for the entire family.

Though set traditionally in the 12th century, complete with Fairies and Gnomes, Prairie Fire's version features the Sheriff of Nottingham as a man ahead of his time -- way ahead -- eight centuries ahead, in fact. He is a visionary, and in his vision he sees the trees of Sherwood Forest gone, and in their place stand "Sherwood Theme Park" and "The Mall of Nottingham." In his way stands the environmentally conscious outlaw Robin Hood.

Delaney, Chad, Lucas, Emma and all of the SnapHappy kids are shocked when they hear that a new “dance tax” has been levied on anyone who dances in town. While their “boogie down” parents try to cope with the new tax, all of the kids come together and take a stand.

This modern-day holiday classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner elf. After all, the best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear.

The musical tells the classic tale of a wacky, but kind, doctor who can talk to animals, taking the audience on a journey from the small English village of Puddleby-on-the-Marsh to the far corners of the world. When Doctor Dolittle attempts to help a seal named Sophie, he’s wrongly accused of murder and stands trial before General Bellowes. Once pronounced innocent, Dolittle is free to continue with his search for the Great Pink Sea Snail — the oldest and wisest of the creatures on earth.
