Perhaps you own and shoot with a 35mm digital camera but are ending up with less than satisfactory photos. Or maybe you’re tired of shooting on AUTO, having realized you’d like a better understanding of how your camera works. This is the course for you! All the basic photography concepts will be covered in depth, including aperture settings, shutter speed, exposure and image editing basics. With camera in hand, learn specific controls that mystify most beginners. Spend time in class taking pictures and learning composition ideas. Please bring your 35mm digital camera (with its battery charged), battery charger, camera card, and instruction booklet. Salem Witch Museum Bus Trip (FL402)

Begin your day with a self-guided tour of the Salem Witch Museum (admission included) where you can experience first hand the reign of terror and hysteria that was rampant in Salem in the 1690’s through the powerful multi-sensory presentation. Visitors are given a dramatic history lesson using stage sets with life-size figures, lighting and narration (an overview of the Witch Trials of 1692). That summer, 180 people had been accused and imprisoned totally defenseless against accusations of witchcraft in a society driven by superstition and fear. The afternoon will permit free time to enjoy “Haunted Happenings” around town. Visit the Witch Dungeon Museum or the Salem Pirate Museum (admission not included). You can take a walking tour or ride the trolley. Enjoy the unique shops and quaint stores Salem offers. Lunch is on your own at one of the many restaurants in the area. The possibilities are endless! Middle School Girls Volleyball Prep Week: Gr. 7-8 (SP-1)

Sign up for Simsbury's Middle School Volleyball Prep Week run by state championship coaches Brian Leblanc and Catherine Purdy. This program is for girls currently in grades 7 or 8. Our middle school prep week is designed to help get 7th and 8th grader girls ready for High School Volleyball. Practices will be set up similar to a high school training session where they will go through a variety of drills that we use here with our high school players. Courts will be divided up based on skill level so each drill is specific to the athletes abilities. Players should come prepared with water, athletic footwear/clothing, knee pads if they have them, and a snack. (3 Days from 9-11:30 am at SHS Gold Gym)
