Join us for February's Mindful Mondays! Take a peaceful 20-minute pause with Heather, one of our amazing ES teachers. With a background in special education, psychology, and therapeutic arts, she gently guides families and staff through simple mindfulness practices that spark focus, creativity, and emotional balance. Each week features a gentle, art-inspired mindfulness experience designed for students, parents, and staff alike — no prep, no pressure, just presence. OCC Planetarium - Costa Mesa -Orange County

In this 90-minute experience, students dive into hands-on discovery—examining real meteorites, seeing Orange County’s only Foucault pendulum, and exploring NOAA’s Science on a Sphere. Then they’ll relax beneath the planetarium’s 50-foot dome for a themed pre-show and feature film, followed by a guided tour of that night’s constellations and a short Q&A with an OCC astronomy student. Most shows are student-led, making the experience engaging, educational, and truly out of this world. Along the way, students will explore math and science concepts such as rotation, angles, measurement, and perception through hands-on exhibits. They’ll experiment with mind-bending illusions, learn how they work, and capture delightfully nonsensical photos they’ll be excited to share.
