About

We will be joined by avid outdoors professionals from the Tahoe Institute of Natural Sciences for a snowshoeing adventure at Chickadee Ridge (North Lake Tahoe). While we are snowshoeing, we will learn all about Winter Wildlife Survival and learn the different coping mechanisms for winter that local animals use. We will look for tracks and other signs of wildlife and play games to ensure you can get to know other students who are on the adventure. We will most likely be able to feed the chickadee's right from our hands!

Free parking is on the side of the road. There is plenty of parking and the road is not very busy during this time of year. Snowshoes are provided but you may bring your own if you'd prefer.

We will snowshoe for about 1.5 hrs total with lots of stopping along the way. This field trip is an active field trip and be prepared to be move your body by fueling properly (water, snacks, etc.)

If you want to sign up a child outside of the age range, please email Lauren.
