Fortune’s Way, or Notes on Art for Catholics

About
A One-Night-Only Performance of Fortune’s Way, or Notes on Art for Catholics (and Others) written by Steve Hauk, with songs by Piotr J. Flatau. This play tells the fascinating story of E. Charlton Fortune, the artist who created much of the unique art in St. Peter’s Church, including the tabernacle and reredo. The story follows her friendship with Archbishop Edwin O’Hara of Kansas City, who is revered for his work in civil rights and education but who was skeptical about the place of art in church. The play will be presented by STP alums and professional performers Maggie and Oliver Hutchison. We promise you have never seen anything like it!
Please join us for a reception immediately following in the Narthex.
