Join us for a field trip to Cabrillo National Monument and the historic Old Point Loma Lighthouse at the tip of the Point Loma peninsula. Students will enjoy a self-guided tour of the lighthouse’s restored 1880s interior while learning about California history and maritime navigation. The main paved walking loop connecting the Visitor Center, Cabrillo Statue, and lighthouse is short—about 0.5 mile or less. Families who would like a longer hike may explore the scenic 2.5-mile round-trip Bayside Trail on their own. This experience blends history, science, and nature in a beautiful coastal setting.Tickets will be purchased for BEST Academy students and one parent per student. Parents must remain on site with their child for the duration of the field trip; drop-off is not permitted.
