Join Mind-Builders Creative Arts and Urban Bush Women's (UBW) BOLD (Builders, Organizers, and Leaders through Dance) for Dance For Every Body, an intergenerational movement workshop that celebrates the unique ways we move, express ourselves, and connect with one another.This movement jam/dance class embraces the ideas that each individual has a unique and powerful contribution to make, and that our bodies are a powerful source of agency. The goal is for "every body" to find their level of challenge and comfort and partake according to their abilities, and to appreciate the groups’ diversity as an attribute to their community.
Led by Urban Bush Women company member Kentoria Earle, participants will explore UBW's technique with close attention to the use of breath, weight, call and response, and polyrhythm.
Open to adults and youth ages 10 and up, no prior dance experience is needed! Mind-Builders is thrilled to bring Urban Bush Women to our community arts center.
Cost
General Admission: $20
Early Bird: $15 (through November 7)
Mind-Builders Students: $10
Space is limited to 35 participants. Advance registration is required.
What to wear: Please wear comfortable/loose-fitting clothing
