**HopeWood 5K 2025 – Event Rules**
1. **Packet Pickup**
Runner packets, including race bibs, t-shirts, and other event materials, must be picked up between 9:30 AM and 10:45 AM on the day of the event. Late arrivals will not be guaranteed their packet or race materials.
2. **Race Start Time**
The race will begin promptly at 11:00 AM. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to ensure they have enough time for packet pickup and warm-up.
3. **Course Description**
The 5K course will consist of both natural trails and paved roads. The course will be clearly marked, and volunteers will be strategically positioned along the route to assist participants and direct them. Participants are expected to stay on the marked course throughout the event.
4. **Safety and Conduct**
Participants must adhere to all safety instructions from event organizers and volunteers. For the safety of all runners, no pets, bicycles, or strollers are permitted on the course. Headphones are allowed but should be used responsibly, as participants must be able to hear instructions from volunteers and course marshals.
5. **Timing**
The event will not be officially timed, but runners are encouraged to track their personal times.
6. **Race Bibs**
Racing bibs must be clearly worn at all times during the event. Bibs should be visible on the front of the participant’s body and must not be altered in any way.
7. **Awards**
Every participant who finishes the race will receive a finisher’s medal, regardless of time.
8. **Hydration and Rest Stations**
There will be water stations along the course. Participants are encouraged to hydrate before, during, and after the race.
9. **Parking**
Free parking will be available at HopeWood Pines. Please follow the signs and directions from volunteers to ensure safe and efficient parking.
10. **Finish Line**
After crossing the finish line, all participants must proceed directly to the post-race area for food and celebration. Please be respectful of fellow runners by not blocking the finish line area.
11. **Medical Assistance**
Medical personnel will be available on-site for any emergencies. If you need assistance during the race, please inform a volunteer or course marshal immediately.
12. **Behavior and Sportsmanship**
We expect all participants to display good sportsmanship. Abusive or disruptive behavior toward volunteers, other participants, or event staff will result in disqualification from the race.
13. **Event Cancellation**
In the case of severe weather or other unforeseen circumstances, the event may be canceled or rescheduled. Participants will be notified by email or through event social media if this occurs. No refunds will be issued.
HopeWood Outdoors not obligated to provide any refunds in regards to tickets purchased for their events.
